100 couples from underprivileged backgrounds took part in a mass marriage ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City. The event was organised by the Centre for Assisting Youths and Workers, under the municipal Youth Union, and coincided with Vietnam’s National Day.
The mass wedding has been held every year since 2008 to honour traditional Vietnamese wedding customs and the spirit of kindness and sharing of its people.
According to organisers, the aim of the event is to enhance the spiritual lives of young workers and help couples begin their happy family life. It also encourages them to improve their lives and careers, thus contributing to the city’s development.
