Not even a raging river was able to hold these youngsters back from making it to their classes on time.
Extraordinary footage filmed in the northern India region of Himachal has emerged showing schoolchildren crossing the flooded river.
The nail-biting clip shows pupils carefully treading over the swollen river that was created by in intense monsoon season.
Children can be seen perilously traversing through the water — some carrying very young pupils on their backs.
They also link arms and form a chain to prevent their peers from being swept away.
‘There is a lot of grass and vegetation on the slippery footpaths in the village. Risk of snakes and flashflood is always there,’ villager Deendyal Sharma told the Times of India.
District authorities are reportedly setting out to address the hazardous crossing.
